Praia, May 12 (Inforpress) - The economic environment indicator for the first quarter of 2025 is above the series average, having reached a higher value compared to the same period in 2024, showing a favourable economic climate, INE announced today.
According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), the favourable economic situation is the result of a synthesis of the opinions expressed by businesspeople in the distributive trades, tourism, construction, and transport and services auxiliary to transport.
‘Compared to the previous quarter, the economic environment indicator reversed the downward trend, i.e. the pace of economic growth increased compared to the fourth quarter of 2024,’ reveals INE, which emphasises that in the retail sector, the confidence indicator evolved positively when compared to the same quarter of the previous year
In tourism, according to the same source, the data compared to the same quarter last year shows an increase in the indicator, with the results obtained in the first quarter of 2025 showing an upward trend in the confidence indicator over the last quarter, above the series average.
