Mindelo, 07 May (Inforpress) - The Cabo Verde Technology Park in Mindelo was inaugurated on Tuesday at a ceremony presided over by the Prime Minister who assured, when questioned by Inforpress about the unfinished parts of the building, that the conditions are in place for it to start operating.
According to Ulisses Correia e Silva, he was speaking after presiding over the inauguration of the Mindelo Technology Park alongside Akinwumi Adesina, president of the African Development Bank (ADB), which financed the construction of these infrastructures in Cabo Verde in amount of 35.9 million dollars.
"The part that is to be completed is not the lack of completion of the works. I'm talking about the Data Centre, which will then be equipped with the equipment that is already available, which is one of the important centres of this infrastructure so that it can then provide a service, not only as a backup to the Data Centre that exists in the Praia Technology Park, but also to store various types of information, both public and private, and to store information," explained the Prime Minister.
According to Ulisses Correia e Silva, the infrastructure is important for Cabo Verde and São Vicente because it is geared towards developing and boosting the digital economy. In other words, he clarified, there are all sorts of possibilities for harnessing the talents of young people, but it will also make it possible to host leading companies, such as VisionWare, which produces cybersecurity solutions for several countries around the world, and which will be the first to set up shop at the Mindelo centre.
