Francisco Carvalho denounces “instrumentalisation of justice” in Cabo Verde

City of Praia, 05 Mar (Inforpress) - The Mayor of Praia, Francisco Carvalho, stated today in Praia that he is the target of an alleged “attempt at political wear and tear” and warned of the alleged instrumentalisation of justice in Cabo Verde.

The mayor of Praia supported his argument by stating that the audits and inspections carried out on the management of the City Council of Praia “did not detect irregularities”, adding that this situation constitutes an attempt to tarnish his image and confuse the public.

“I have never stolen a single cent at City Council of Praia and I have a clear conscience,” he emphasised.

Francisco Carvalho defended this position while commenting on a complaint sent by Cape Verdeans residing in the United States of America to U.S. senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, which he considers to be an alert regarding the alleged instrumentalisation of justice.
