Porto Novo, 05 May (Inforpress) - The fishermen's associations in the municipality of Porto Novo today expressed “concern” about the situation of families living from fishing, alerting the “responsibility” to the need to help these people “as a matter of urgency”.
The fishermen's associations in the city of Porto Novo and Monte Trigo explained to Inforpress that the bad weather conditions in the municipality in recent months have made it impossible for artisanal fishing boats to leave ‘regularly and safely’.
according to them, a situation that has affected families who depend on fishing.
In Monte Trigo, the class representative, Herculano Santos, confirmed that the men of the sea have had “many difficulties” going fishing due to the weather conditions, and defended the need for “those in authority” to support the class at this “'difficult time”'.
