Praia, Oct 27 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, José Filomeno Monteiro, confirmed today to Inforpress that he will leave the Government, for health reasons.
When asked about who will replace him, José Filomeno Monteiro did not confirm whether it will be the current ambassador of Cabo Verde in Washington (USA), José Luís Livramento, because, he said, it will depend on “political negotiation”, taking into account that the Government proposes and it is up to the President of the Republic to appoint.
José Filomeno's departure opens the possibility of a government reshuffle.
Meanwhile, when contacted by Inforpress from Washington, Livramento declined to confirm whether he would return to Praia to take on the Foreign Affairs portfolio.
