CV Handling workers announce four-days strike at Nelson Mandela Airport
30/06/25 - 01:43 pm

Praia, Jun 30 (Inforpress) - The Union of Transport, Telecommunications, Hotels and Tourism (SITTHUR) has handed in a four-days strike notice at CV Handling, at Nelson Mandela Airport, between 10 and 14 July over the non-payment of allowances.

At a press conference in Praia, the general secretary of SITTHUR, Joaquina Almeida, said that the strike covers all the company's services, including general and auxiliary service operators, ground handling operators, ground handling staff and technicians.

The strike, she said, comes in response to the “company’s failure to comply” with the improvement of the night shift allowance and risk allowance, benefits promised since March, “but which have not yet been paid”.

‘CV Handling workers say enough, the company demands the immediate correction of the night subsidy in a sector that operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with the majority of flights taking place at night,’ said Joaquina Almeida.
