Mindelo, Jul 17 (Inforpress) - Today, the councilors of the PAICV in the São Vicente City Council expressed their concern about the ‘commitments not honoured by the council’ and a series of issues relating to sanitation, duplication of land sales and taxi licences.
These concerns were expressed today at a press conference by the councillors, without portfolio, of the African Party for the Independence of Cabo Verde (PAICV), whose spokesperson was António Sequeira Duarte, after the 12th ordinary session of the São Vicente City Council (CMSV) this year, 2025.
"We expressed our concern regarding several issues, budgets, commitments not honored by the city council, the duplication of land sales to various residents, taxi licenses, and the sanitation issue related to the public sewage system, which is well beyond its capacity and needs to be restructured," the mayor explained.
According to António Sequeira Durante, the issue of safety equipment for various services, such as sanitation, is also a cause for concern, as are the staff working at the municipal cemetery, who are unhappy and worried about not having protective equipment for the service they provide.
