Praia, Apr 22 (Inforpress) - The Minister of Internal Affairs said today that the swearing in of the new national director of the PN, Jorge Humberto Andrade, marks a moment of renewal and that he expects leadership that is committed to the challenges of internal security.
During his speech at the ceremony, Paulo Rocha emphasised that the choice of the new leader was based on clear criteria, such as competence, institutional recognition, seniority and professional career.
The minister stressed the importance of an engaged and close leadership style, with a strong capacity for internal dialogue and external articulation, at a time when the National Police is facing increasing demands as a result of rapid social and technological changes.
"We are living in times of accelerated change, with uncertainties and profound challenges for public security. The National Police need to adapt to this new context, with more communication, more organisation and greater anticipation of criminal phenomena," he said.
