“Court decision is a victory against the illegitimacy of the UNTC-CS National Council” – Platform

Praia, Mar 26 (Inforpress) – The Trade Union Platform - Unite and Rescue the UNTC-CS celebrated today in Praia, “with confidence in justice, another victory” in the process of challenging the alleged meeting of the National Council of the UNTC-CS.

Speaking to the press, the president of Siscap, Eliseu Tavares, said that the Sotavento Court of Appeal had upheld the judgement handed down by the Praia District Court, considering all the alleged facts about the challenge to the meeting of the National Council of the National Workers' Union of Cabo Verde - Central Trade Union (UNTC-CS), held in November 2021, to be proven.

He considered that the judgement was ‘yet another fraud, yet another illegality practised by the secretary general of the UNTC-CS’, Joaquina Almeida.

According to the same source, the court considered all the allegations, stating that two lists were voted on at the 2016 Congress, both of which elected members to the National Council, and that the lists listed the names of the members of each list.
