Praia, Apr 22 (Inforpress) - The fast ferry Liberdadi, which ran aground this Monday near the port of Praia, with 144 passengers on board, after interrupting the Praia/Fogo/Brava trip midway, is heading to São Vicente for repairs at the Cabnave shipyards.
According to the director of CV Interilhas (CVI), a team of divers has already detected the damage caused to the hull by the impact of the ship with the rocks, and the first interventions have been carried out, so it is necessary for the catamaran to travel to São Vicente to carry out the repairs, which may take time.
Fernando Brás said that strategies are currently being studied so that the ship, which is docked at the port of Praia, can reach São Vicente, whether by its own means or if towed for the appropriate technical intervention.
With the ship Liberdadi out of circulation, the Sotavento lines are deprived of maritime connections in the short term, as the other catamaran, Kriola, continues to receive repair work, as does the ship Praia d’Águada.
