Parliament: Minister of Infrastructure says government has responded with results despite crisis
09/04/25 - 01:35 pm

Praia, Apr 9 (Inforpress) - The Minister of Infrastructure, Territorial Planning and Housing said today that although the government took over the country in a context of ‘unprecedented’ crises, it responded with work, ‘with results’, in positive socio-economic indicators.

‘I am proud to announce that, for the first time in history, the country will now have its own National Infrastructure Plan (PNI),’ said Victor Coutinho, who made his debut in parliamentary debates today.

The minister confirmed that the public tender to draw up the plan will be launched ‘later this month’, with funding from the World Bank and the Community of West African Countries (ECOWAS).

‘This [National Infrastructure Plan] will be a strategic investment map for the next 15/20 years,’ said Victor Coutinho, adding that the government is aiming for a plan with a ‘vision of a prosperous future’, with ‘green, modern and resilient’ infrastructure, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
