The Coastguard celebrates 33 years of commitment to maritime safety and the protection of marine resources

Mindelo, 9 Oct (Inforpress) – The Coast Guard is celebrating its 33rd anniversary today, reaffirming its commitment to maritime security, the surveillance of national maritime areas, search and rescue operations, and the protection of marine resources.

The commemorative ceremony takes place in the late afternoon at the Naval Support Point (PAN), located at Pier No. 9 of the Porto Grande do Mindelo, in São Vicente.

The ceremony will be presided over by the Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, Rear Admiral Manuel António Pereira Semedo, and will be attended by civil and military officials, institutional representatives, guests, and Coast Guard personnel.

The ceremony aims to mark the historical journey of this branch of the Armed Forces, recognize the contribution of its service members, and reaffirm the commitment to defending the State's interests at sea.
