Obituary/São Vicente: Singer Djosinha died at age 92 in his native Mindelo

Mindelo, June 5 (Inforpress) – Singer Djosinha died today in São Vicente at the age of 92, two days after being discharged from Baptista de Sousa Hospital, where he had been hospitalized, Serenata band manager Kikas Silva confirmed to Inforpress.

According to the same source, Djosinha had been hospitalized since May 8 due to health complications and remained there until Wednesday, June 3.

 “He left the hospital visibly weakened, but we did not expect this sad outcome,” lamented the producer.

However, the same source added that earlier in April the singer himself had asked the Serenata band to organize a farewell concert from the major stages because he was already feeling unwell.

“It was he himself who requested that concert as a farewell to the major stages. His decision was that he might appear occasionally in more intimate shows, but not at large concerts,” he stressed.
