Porto Novo, Dec 10 (Inforpress) – Santo Antão will host two environmental conservation projects over the next three years, focused on preserving endemic forest areas in the Topo de Coroa, Cova/Ribeira da Torre/Paul, and Moroços natural parks, under an initiative by Terrimar – Environment and Sustainable Development.
The projects - “Expanding Networks and Actions for the Conservation of Endemic Trees” and “Promoting Participatory Conservation of Endemic Plants” - will be presented Thursday to communities in the natural parks of Cova/Ribeira da Torre/Paul and Moroços, on the Eastern Plateau.
According to Terrimar Executive Director Silvana Roque, the organization aims to make Santo Antão “a national reference” in environmental conservation within three years, ensuring a sustainable future for local communities.
“Our vision is to turn Santo Antão into a national benchmark for environmental conservation,” she said.
