Swimming: José Taty sets new personal record in the 50-meter freestyle at the World Aquatics Championships

Praia, Aug 1 (Inforpress) - Cape Verdean swimmer José Taty competed today at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore in the 50-meter freestyle and set a new personal record.

According to Enrique Alhinho, secretary of the Cape Verdean Swimming Federation (FECAN), José Taty swam in the fourth series and finished the race with a time of 25.09 seconds, beating his previous best of 25.15.

With this result, Taty finished in 86th place among the 116 athletes, in what was her only individual event of the competition.

The national team is now preparing to compete, on Saturday, the 2nd, in the last events of the calendar, 50 meters breaststroke and 4x50 meters freestyle relay.
