Praia, Apr 23 (Inforpress) - CV Interilhas (CVI) announced Tuesday that it intends to use the ship Dona Tututa to reinforce the routes of the Sotavento line, following the accident involving the ship Liberdadi.

“We are evaluating all logistical and operational possibilities to ensure the continuity of the service on the Sotavento line. We will use the ship Dona Tututa to reinforce the routes of the Sotavento line”, it said in a statement.

The company also says that it is actively collaborating with the National Directorate of Maritime Policy (DNPM) to see the availability of other means, technically evaluating the condition of the Praia d’Aguada vessel, with a view to a possible future contribution to the inter-island operation.

The same source highlighted that in this difficult time, all CVI employees are committed and working “with total dedication” to find solutions that allow for inter-island travel to be guaranteed in line with the high season calendar, especially the “Nhô São Filipe” festival on Fogo Island.
