São Vicente: Regional boxing championship final brings together more than 30 boxers

Mindelo, 31 July (Inforpress) – The São Vicente Boxing Association is holding the final of the regional championship on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August at the Oeiras Sports Centre, with 32 boxers from different weight categories and clubs across the island taking part.

The information was disclosed to Inforpress today by the president of the São Vicente Boxing Association, Valdo Reis, who explained that the competition will be held in two stages, with the qualifying rounds on Saturday 1st and the semi-finals and finals on Sunday 2nd.

The championship features boxers from the Chã de Marinha Sport Club Center, Desportivo de Fonte Francês and Clube Sportivo Mindelense clubs, covering the children’s, cadet, junior and senior categories for both men and women.

Valdo Reis expressed his satisfaction at the participation of athletes of different ages, highlighting the presence of school-age children as one of the association’s achievements.
