São Vicente: Pro-rector of Uni-CV praises the role of nurses in ‘strengthening humanity’

Mindelo, May 13 (Inforpress) - João Almeida Medina, pro-rector of the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV), said today in Mindelo that nursing professionals must be looked after in order to ‘strengthen humanity’, but with ‘emotional, social and economic balance’.

The head of Evaluation, Communication and Efficiency at Uni-CV was speaking at the opening of the 9th Academic Nursing Days, this year under the slogan ‘Our nurses, our future, caring for nurses strengthens economies’, as part of International Nurses' Day, marked on Monday 12th.

Almeida Medina emphasised that the Nursing course has given Uni-CV ‘a lot of joy’, due to the commitment and dedication of the students, but took the opportunity to draw the students' attention to what he called “technological dysfunctions”, which, he admitted, may be “messing with” their enjoyment of the student world, especially among boys.

At another point in his speech, he warned of the need for schools to pay ‘special attention’ to ‘affection with self-care’.
