Mindelo, Apr 15 (Inforpress) - The Minister of Internal Affairs, Paulo Rocha, handed over two vehicles, guns and handcuffs to the Municipal Police in São Vicente on Monday, 14 April, to reinforce their action and support the functions of the National Police.
The act, which was part of Mindelo City Day commemorative activities, is, according to the official, part of the work being done to operationalise the Municipal Police throughout the country.
'The Municipal Police is essential in terms of the support it gives to the National Police in those tasks that have to do, above all, with municipal regulations, such as inspections and the protection of public spaces,' said Paulo Rocha.
The donation was made exactly one year after the Municipal Police was established, which on 14 April 2024 was presented with two vehicles and has now been given two more vehicles and protective equipment, such as pistols and handcuffs.
