Mindelo, May 8 (Inforpress) - The president of the Cabo Verde Red Cross (CVCV) said today in Mindelo that mobilising resources has been ‘one of the biggest challenges’ currently facing the institution.
Arlindo Carvalho was speaking to the press at the centrepiece of the celebrations marking World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, this year under the slogan ‘On the side of humanity’, which also marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the CVCV.
According to the same source, circumstantial crises, those caused by man, those that derive from nature, the incidences, the impacts of climate change on production systems, economic and political systems and, above all, on communities, make the mobilisation of resources more difficult.
‘Today, mobilising resources is a little more difficult, so we have to be very intelligent, put our wisdom to work and be able to develop and design innovative solutions,’ he said.
