São Vicente: Minister inaugurates tartan track and promises similar infrastructure for three more sports regions

Mindelo, Mar 24 (Inforpress) - Today in Mindelo, the Minister of Sport inaugurated the synthetic tartan athletics track installed at the Adérito Sena Stadium and took the opportunity to announce more of this kind for Santo Antão, Santiago Norte and Fogo.

This is because, according to Carlos Monteiro, ‘every region’ of the country is going to have its own tartan track, to boost talent throughout the country, with investments that will last over time.

Regarding the equipment inaugurated today in Mindelo, the minister said that it was a facility that ‘stirred up a lot of feelings’ among the sports community in São Vicente, especially those linked to athletics. 

‘In other words, an infrastructure that has long been dreamt of by several generations who have been involved in athletics over the years and which is now coming to fruition,’ he emphasised.
