Mindelo, June 2 (Inforpress) – The Cultural Centre of Mindelo (CCM) is expected to reopen later this month following the completion of rehabilitation works valued at 29 million escudos, the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries announced.
Augusto Veiga made the statement to the press after visiting the CCM facilities, which have been undergoing renovation since February this year following damage caused by Storm Erin.
According to the minister, the works are practically complete, with only a few “adjustments and finishing touches” remaining, which will be assessed by Infrastructure of Cabo Verde (ICV), the entity responsible for the technical supervision of the project.
“We are working with the CCM management so that the reopening takes place during this month of June. Everything is being done to ensure that it happens in the second or, at the latest, the third week of June, so that this space can once again be made available to the people of Mindelo,” he stated.
