São Vicente/Baía das Gatas: Leo Santana celebrates the connection among Brazil, Cape Verde and Africa in his festival debut

Mindelo, August 7 (Inforpress) – Brazilian singer Leo Santana opened the 42nd edition of the Baía das Gatas Festival and transformed the show into a celebration of the union among Brazil, Cabo Verde and Africa, before an audience that sang until the end.

The opening show of the four-day festival was scheduled to begin at 9:30 PM, but it started about an hour later than planned.

However, the delay did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the thousands of people gathered at Baía das Gatas, who had travelled from various parts of Cabo Verde and the diaspora.

Leo Santana opened the concert with "Vai no Chão Bebê" and, throughout the performance, covered some of the best-known songs from his 20-year career.
