São Filipe: Transport situation could affect Municipality and Bandeira Day festivities – mayor

São Filipe, Apr 24 (Inforpress) - The mayor of São Filipe, Nuias Silva, expressed concern about the issue of maritime and air transport, which could affect the influx of visitors and commercial supply during the São Filipe festivities.

The mayor highlighted the urgency of resolving the transport problems that threaten to impact the traditional celebrations of the Municipality Day and the Bandeira of São Filipe, which are currently underway and will start to heat up from April 25th.

According to the mayor, the growing influx of visitors from other islands and the diaspora, mainly from the United States, has put pressure on transport capacity to Fogo Island.

“If the transport issue is not resolved in the next two days, this will significantly affect the plans of many people who intend to come to São Filipe at this time of year,” warned Nuias Silva.
