São Filipe: Betting and passion characterise the final qualifying stage of the horse races

São Filipe, 28 April (Inforpress) – The final qualifying round for the big horse race brought together breeders, punters and hundreds of spectators on Monday, in an atmosphere marked by enthusiasm, healthy rivalry and betting, which is seen as part of the sport’s tradition.

The event took place at the São Filipe Racecourse, the usual venue for the horse racing event that brings together owners and horses from various islands across the country.

The competition is divided into two stages; the first, the qualifying round, took place today, whilst the final is scheduled for the 29th, when the main race will be held.

Among those present, Laureano Barros highlighted the “great enthusiasm” surrounding a debutant horse that took part in the first race of the day, noting that “so far, so good” and expressing confidence in its performance for the final.
