Sal Island: Human factor is the main cause of accidents on Cape Verdean roads - director

Espargos, 25 Jul (Inforpress) - The Director General of Road Transport, Ana Paula Silva, highlighted today, in Sal, during the workshop on “Attitudes and Risk Behaviors Associated with Road Accidents”, that the human factor is the main cause of accidents on Cape Verdean roads.

The event, focused on risky attitudes and behaviors, aims to combat “the growing accident rate”, especially on the road connecting Espargos to Santa Maria (EN1-SL-01), promoting “more conscious driving”.

Recent data shows that the number of accidents and victims in Cape Verde, especially on Sal, “has reached critical levels”.

Ana Paula Silva clarified the focus on human behavior, despite concerns about infrastructure.
