Rhythmic Gymnastics: Márcia Lopes and Luara Português compete in the 19th African Championship

Praia, May 2 (Inforpress) - Gymnasts Márcia Lopes and Luara Português are representing Cabo Verde at the 19th African Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, which will take place from May 2 to 4 in Cairo, Egypt.

According to the Cape Verdean Gymnastics Federation, the two athletes represent “the national colours in this important continental competition”, under the guidance of the national coach, Elena Atmacheva.

“This participation reinforces Cabo Verde’s ongoing commitment to the development of gymnastics and the encouragement of female sporting excellence,” says the national federation of the sport.

The competition includes gymnasts from Egypt, Cabo Verde, South Africa, Angola, Congo, Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tunisia.
