Producer of the film “Pirinha” hails “great victory” after winning the “Grand Prix de la Critique” in Senegal

Praia, May 8 (Inforpress) - The producer of the film “Pirinha”, Emilia Wojciechowska, from Korikaxoru Films, considered today that winning the “Grand Prix de la Critique”, in Saint-Louis (Senegal), is a “great victory” and “a source of pride”.

"This is a great victory and a source of pride, because whenever we participate in any international festival we not only represent Korikaxoru and our project, but also Cabo Verde", he told Inforpress.

According to him, festivals on the African continent have a “special meaning” and he stressed that this is an achievement that makes them “very proud”.

Emilia Wojciechowska highlighted the importance of the recognition of “Pirinha” in the documentary category and explained that the film does not fit into the classic documentary format when addressing a complex theme, such as a young woman's journey into the past to recover the traumas of childhood sexual abuse.
