Praia, Mar 27 (Inforpress) - The women of the security forces paraded again today on Avenida Amílcar Cabral, through some streets of the Plateau, in celebration of Cape Verdean Women's Day and thrilled people with their marching beat.
Every year, on this occasion, the policewomen take to the streets of the Plateau with the traditional march to celebrate the day of all Cape Verdean ladies, highlighting their role in society and showing that competence and efficiency have no gender.
Promoted by the women of the National Police, the parade, which was also attended by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, kicked off on Avenida Amílcar Cabral with the participation of nearly 200 women from the island's security forces, as well as military and private security women and the so-called ‘rabidantes’.
Parading along the avenue, wherever they went they were cheered and clapped by people holding up their mobile phones to record the moment.
