Praia, Apr 11 (Inforpress) – MP Euclides Silva (MpD) said today in parliament that the country's economic growth of 7.3% in 2024 is not “a matter of chance”, but rather the result of “strategy and leadership and taking calculated risks”.
“Economic growth of 7.3 percent (%) is not just a shiny number to be displayed in reports,” said the elected official on the Movement for Democracy lists, adding that it is proof of how a “resilient economy can overcome the challenges of an adverse global context”, namely “geopolitical instability, inflationary pressures and volatility in raw material prices”.
Euclides Silva expressed these thoughts during the political statement he presented on behalf of his parliamentary group.
For the MpD, Cabo Verde has shown that, even as a small island economy, it ‘knows how to grow with audacity and resilience’.
