Praia, 12 May (Inforpress)- A group of 30 trainees from different countries in the African region are meeting today for international training on ‘Solving security problems’ and sharing experiences in the field of civil aviation security.

Promoted by the International Civil Organisation (ICAO) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the initiative is attended by international trainers and aims to strengthen participants' technical skills in identifying and resolving safety issues, promoting the implementation of effective processes and procedures.

Aimed at professionals with responsibility for formulating operational safety policies, regulation, auditing and supervision in the civil aviation sector, this training course also aims to equip trainees with the tools and knowledge essential for drawing up manuals, procedures and guidance materials.

In this context, and in an environment designed to share experiences and strengthen regional technical cooperation in the field of civil aviation safety, the aim of this action is also to sensitise professionals to the adoption of good practices in the field of safety investigations, and to a ‘deeper’ understanding of the obligations of States, in accordance with the standards and requirements established by ICAO
