Praia, 05 May (Inforpress) - Ângela Gomes, the national Director of Health, addressed the importance of regional community health policies and highlighted the significant progress achieved by the country in this area.
Ângela Gomes made these statements to Inforpress as part of the 26th ordinary session of the assembly of health ministers of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), which is taking place in Praia from 4 to 10 May.
According to the same source, the assembly of ECOWAS health ministers is an essential platform for political dialogue, sharing experiences and adopting joint strategies, reaffirming the central role of the West African Health Organisation (WAHO) in building a regional health system that is integrated, equitable and accessible to all.
According to Ângela Gomes, the role of community health in improving public health in the region is fundamental, and the active participation of the population and all stakeholders needs to be strengthened.
