Praia, Apr 10 (Inforpress) - Eric Federico, head of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP), said that the training on risk communication and community engagement that kicked off today in Praia aims to share information in the area of communication.

Speaking to Inforpress after presiding over the opening of the training, funded by the United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef), Eric Federico stressed that the aim is to make people know how to behave and act in situations of risk.

‘When we have a pandemic or an outbreak of some disease, there are usually characteristics that can occur in the community, such as fear and misinformation, and this makes it difficult for health authorities to make decisions and the right way to act,’ he said, adding that this training is aimed at sharing information.

The training, he explained, helps people to be well informed and to know how to behave and become agents of health so that they can preserve their own health.
