Fogo: Palliative Care Center is a merciful project that springs from suffering at the end of life – friar

São Filipe, May 14 (Inforpress) - The Nossa Senhora da Encarnação (Our Lady of the Incarnation) Palliative Care Centre (CCP) is a ‘concrete and merciful’ project that springs from suffering at the end of life, said the president of the Father Ottavio Fasano Foundation, Friar Gilson Frede.

Announcing the inauguration of the CCP on Sunday 18th, the president of the Father Ottavio Fasano Foundation said that this is an initiative that represents ‘an important milestone’ in the promotion of human dignity and compassionate care in the final moments of life.

The project, according to the same source, was born out of the ‘merciful vision’ of Fr Ottavio Fasano, in ‘deep harmony’ with the principles of the international palliative care movement.

Inspired by Christian compassion and the mission to guarantee comprehensive support for the terminally ill, the centre is the result of a partnership between the Father Ottavio Fasano Foundation and the Missionary Solidarity and Development Association (AMSES Onlus).
