Praia, 09 May (Inforpress) - The New Assembly School celebrated Mother's Day today with activities including traditional games, local product fairs and cultural performances, aimed at strengthening family ties and valuing the role of mothers in education.
With the aim of providing a moment of socialising and reviving values such as solidarity, dialogue and an active presence in children's lives, the New Assembly School held a programme today in celebration of Mother's Day.
The head of the school, Samira Moniz, told Inforpress that the initiative was designed to create an environment of interaction between mothers and children, getting away from the digital routine and offering moments of play and learning through traditional games such as sack races, mata, ring games and card games, among others.
‘Nowadays, screens have taken up a lot of parents' and children's time. We want to bring back the pleasure of playing, strengthen family ties and remind people that it's possible, even for an hour, to play and educate at the same time,’ said Moniz.
