CVMA 2026 will be held in Mindelo – organizers promise to boost local music and the economy

Praia, Sep 18 (Inforpress) – The organization of the Cabo Verde Music Awards (CVMA) announced today that the 2026 event will take place on June 6, in Mindelo, and promises to boost the local economy after Storm Erin. 

"Given everything that's happened, the current situation following Storm Erin, we're bringing a little more joy and hope to Mindelo, an event that will also boost the city's economy," said Soraia de Deus, Director of Communications at the CVMA, in a statement to Inforpress.

The person in charge also added that this was a decision that had long been in line with the organization's plan. 

“Decidimos trazer os CVMA para o Mindelo porque já era uma decisão que tínhamos há muito tempo. Já realizámos uma edição na Ilha do Sal e fazia sentido fazer chegar o prémio oficial da música de Cabo Verde ao Mindelo”, explicou Soraia de Deus.
