Porto Inglês, Apr 22 (Inforpress) - CV Interilhas has cancelled sea trips to the islands of Maio, Fogo and Brava, due to the accident that took the ship Liberdadi out of circulation, and, at this time, there is no boat available to connect the Sotavento islands.

CV Interilhas reported that, as a result of the accident involving the ship Liberdadi, and the “urgent need” for docking for technical intervention, the Sotavento Line trips have been cancelled “for an indefinite period”.

There is no capacity to use the ship in “lay-up” at the moment, as the Kriola ship is carrying out the maintenance and conservation interventions necessary for the issuance of its class and flag safety and seaworthiness certificates, indicated the same source.

According to the statement, CVI is considering all possibilities to find solutions that will allow connections on the Santiago/Fogo/Brava and Santiago/Maio routes to be ensured “as soon as possible”.
