Praia, May 29 (Inforpress) - The Cape Verdean Music Society (SCM) is meeting in Praia to train technicians and reinforce the monitoring and collection of copyright, whose debt exceeds 30 million escudos, aiming to improve distribution to artists.

The national training meeting for SCM licensing technicians, which runs until Friday, the 30th, aims to reinforce technical skills in the area of inspection and collection of copyright, with a focus on improving the distribution of income to artists and authors.

In a statement to the Press, the vice-president of SCM, João Miranda, highlighted the importance of this action for institutional strengthening and the valorization of artistic work in the country.

“SCM is investing heavily in training its technicians, especially in the area of inspection and collection, to ensure that creators’ rights are respected and paid,” she said.
