Porto Inglês, May 15 (Inforpress) – The majority of Cape Verdean families anticipate a deterioration in the national economic situation and their own financial condition in the next 12 months, according to data from the consumer survey, referring to the first quarter of 2025.
According to the results released today by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the Consumer Confidence Indicator maintained the negative trend recorded in the last quarter of 2024, standing below the series average, reflecting a “slowdown in confidence” of families in relation to the country's economy.
The outlook for the future ‘is not favourable’, as those surveyed believe that both the country's economic situation and the financial situation of families will evolve negatively over the next year.
This perception comes in a context in which consumers also point to the increase in prices and unemployment over the last 12 months.
