Cabo Verde remains in 72nd place in the FIFA rankings

Praia, Apr 3 (Inforpress) - The Cape Verdean national football team remained in 72nd place in the FIFA rankings, which were updated today and which continue to be led by Argentina, having extended their lead after securing a place in the 2026 World Cup.

Despite victories over Mauritius (1-0) and Angola (2-1), the Cape Verdean team maintained its position as both of April's opponents are way down in the rankings.

In terms of the Portuguese-speaking African countries (PALOP), Cabo Verde tops the list, followed by Angola (87th), Mozambique (96th), Guinea-Bissau (128th) and São Tomé and Príncipe (194th).

The Top 10 of the ranking is made up of the national teams of Argentina, Spain, France, England, Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Italy and Germany.
