Nova Sintra, Mar 25 (Inforpress) - The Biodiversity Conservation Association - Biflores announced today that the ecological restoration project in the upper areas of Brava, namely Mato Riba, Campos das Fontes and Cova Galinha, is already underway.
The project, as Biflores technician Carlos Bango told Inforpress, aims to continue removing invasive species in order to also take advantage of the transformation of raw materials into handicrafts.
However, he also explained that at the same time they are carrying out ecological restoration in a philosophy of agroecology and agroforestry, taking into account that they remove invasive species and replace them with endemic species, fruit trees, trees and other varieties.
‘We have always tried to reconcile the challenges of conservation with the challenges of development through agriculture and livestock, engaging these types of activities within what is Biflores‘ conservation philosophy,’ he said.
