Boa Vista: Health Minister carries out first mission to the island for ‘’local management‘’

Sal Rei, Mar 28 (Inforpress) - The Minister of Health, Jorge Figueiredo, is arriving in Boa Vista today for a two-days visit to the island to see how the local health structures are working and to monitor the progress of ongoing works.

According to a press release to which Inforpress has had access, in addition to visiting local health structures, such as the Health Centre, the mission also aims to listen to workers and keep in touch with some partners.

The program also includes a courtesy visit to the mayor, Cláudio Mendonça, a visit to the works at the Boa Vista Operating Block, the building of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Center and a meeting with representatives of the NGO Africa Avanza, in the context of the opening of a solidarity clinic on the island.

The same press release states that the mission is part of the minister's trips to the country's islands and regions, with the aim of implementing a local management strategy, getting to know how the health centres work, as well as keeping in touch and meeting with health professionals.
