Mindelo, May 13 (Inforpress) - The president of the Independent and Democratic Cape Verdean Union (UCID) said that the party, which celebrates its 47th anniversary today, is ‘better prepared’ to face the challenges ahead and make its best contribution to the country.
João Santos Luís made these remarks at a press conference to mark UCID's 47th anniversary, during which he said that the country's challenges coincide with those of UCID.
According to the UCID president, Cabo Verde's sustainable development is certainly ‘one of the biggest challenges’ today, because there is ‘a lot of scope’ for the country to achieve ‘better conditions’ for development and promote a ‘better quality’ of life for Cape Verdeans.
‘The party believes that with the selfless involvement of everyone, without exception, we can have a nation better prepared to face the challenges that are not few, aggravated by the current situation haunted by geopolitical and trade tensions,’ he said.
