Athletics: Nelson Correia wins Ultra Trail do Marão, in Portugal, in 25 Km

Praia, Mar 31 (Inforpress) - Cape Verdean international trail runner Nelson Correia, from Emicela Team Cabo Verde, won the 2025 edition of the Ultra Trail do Marão, in Portugal, on Sunday 30, in the 25 km race.

According to the race organisers, the athlete from the island of Fogo, who has been making a name for himself in trail races held in different regions of Portugal, covered the course in 1 hour, 51 minutes and 22 seconds.

Nelson Correia expressed his joy at his achievements in different trail races, especially in Portugal, and made public his intention to embrace professionalism in this sport. 

This was the Emicela Team Cabo Verde athlete's third consecutive victory in Portugal in three consecutive weekends, as last week he had won the ‘Trilhos do Peleozico’ and the week before that he had won the Foz Côa Douro'2025 international trail race in Guarda, in the district of Porto.
