Arts Promotion Call receives 216 applications with emphasis on music

Praia, Apr 15 (Inforpress) - The Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries announced today that the Call for Proposals to Promote the Arts has received a total of 216 applications from different artistic areas and from all the country's islands.

According to the figures released, music was the area with the highest number of proposals submitted, totalling 95 projects. This was followed by handicrafts, with 32 applications, theatre (23), dance (19), visual arts (16), photography (14), fashion (12) and design (5).

Regarding the profile of the proposers, 144 are male and 76 are female.

In terms of geographical distribution, most of the projects come from the island of Santiago, which accounts for 53.2 per cent (%) of the applications.
