Santo Antão: Women from Ribeira da Ponta do Sol want to give a new face to the community

Ponta do Sol, 19 Mar (Inforpress) - The president of the newly created Women’s Association of Ribeira da Ponta do Sol, in Santo Antão, stated today that she intends to upgrade the city’s entrance, with house painting and urban improvements, aiming to enhance the community.

Speaking to Inforpress, Maria Piedade explained that the initiative arose within the framework of a set of actions focused on community development and improving the population’s living conditions.

According to the official, the idea of creating the association came from an informal conversation with her niece, with whom she had long shared the desire to do something for the community.

“We were missing the first step, but over time we gained courage. The group grew and we felt it was the right moment to move forward,” she said.
