Fogo: Chã das Caldeiras Winery prepares launch of sparkling wine and fortified wine on the market

São Filipe, Mar 02 (Inforpress) - The Chã das Caldeiras winery/cooperative, on the island of Fogo, plans to launch two new products on the market this year, a sparkling wine and a fortified wine, similar to traditional Port wine.

The information was provided by the head of the Chã das Caldeiras winery/cooperative, David Gomes Monteiro, better known as “Neves”, during the visit of the President of the Republic.

According to him, the sparkling wine to be presented to the public corresponds to the 2017 harvest and he explained that this type of wine requires a longer maturation period before being placed on the market.

Nevertheless, he stated that the evaluation carried out by specialists was “very positive”, classifying the sparkling wine as a product of excellent quality.
