São Vicente/Carnival: Teachers light up Monday night with parade of sparkle and charm

Mindelo, Feb 17 (Inforpress) – The animation group Professores de São Vicente (teachers of São Vicente ) took over the Mindelo sambadrome on Monday night, the 16th, with a parade of colour, sparkle and charm, replacing the usual Escola de Samba Tropical.

With contagious energy and strong stage presence, the teachers entered Rua de Lisboa a few minutes before 9:00 p.m., transforming Monday into an authentic celebration of culture and joy.

The group occupied the space traditionally reserved for Mindelo’s largest animation collective, absent from this year’s Carnival due to disagreements with the municipal council.

Under the topic “15 Years of Knowledge and Revelry”, the teachers marked a decade and a half of existence with a parade structured into ten sections, each representing one of the themes previously taken to the avenue over the years.
