Judicial Police Arrest Five Suspects in Death of Young Irish Man on Sal Island

Espargos, Jan 09 (Inforpress) – The Sal Criminal Investigation Department (DICS) announced today, at a press conference, the arrest of five individuals suspected of involvement in the fatal assault of a 25-year-old Irish man.

The crime occurred in the early hours of January 7, at around 03: Am, on Santa Maria’s pedestrian street.

According to DICS Director Adérito Moreno, the victim, a descendant of Cape Verdeans who regularly spent holidays on the island, was accompanied by three friends from Ireland to celebrate the end-of-year festivities.

The group was reportedly involved in a “violent altercation” with around ten individuals of Cape Verdean nationality near the Kalema Pub.
