Uni-CV/Elections: Electoral Commission Receives Seven Applications for Rector Position

Praia City, Dec 30 (Inforpress) – The Electoral Commission of the University of Cabo Verde (Uni-CV) has received seven applications for the election of the rector and is expected to announce today the decision on the admissibility of the applications for the election scheduled for January 28, 2026.

According to information released by Uni-CV on the 24th, applications were submitted to the headquarters of the Electoral Commission by professors Maria de Lourdes Gonçalves, Odair Varela, João Cardoso, and Crisanto Barros, accompanied respectively by their representatives Ailton Moreira, Osvaldo Ortet, Bernardino Cunha, and Irene Cruz.

The Electoral Commission also clarified that the 25th and 26th were not considered working days for the functioning of the body, with no attendance or receipt of applications during that period, as they were public holidays.

On the 27th, the Electoral Commission resumed operations between 08:00 and 13:00, receiving the applications of Jorge Tavares, Astrigilda Silveira, and Felisberto Mendes, whose representatives are Elvis Chantre, Elga Carvalho, and Cláudio Varela, respectively.
